The story is set after the events of A Quiet Place where the Abbott family has killed three of the alien creatures and are now leaving their home. They move to Emmett who helped them in hiding after Marcus being hurt by a bear trap. Marcus and Regan find a radio signal playing the song on a loop coming from an island near them. Regan insists Marcus help her to get to the radio tower. She transmits the high-frequency sounds that mark weak spots on the aliens. Regan has to work on her own as Marcus threatens to tell Evelyn.
